Tintin Inspired Kit for Belgian Football Team

Adidas and the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) have unveiled the new home and away kits for Belgium’s national teams. The new home kit features a rich shade of red, with striking gold details and a stylish graphic pattern embossed on the jersey. The away kit pays tribute to Belgian cartoonist HergĂ© and his most popular creation, Tintin. The Belgian Red Devils’ away kit is inspired by the outfit worn by Tintin and features a blue jersey with a white collar, brown shorts, and white socks

The home and away jerseys share a fashion-inspired graphic pattern that has been embossed, giving them a luxurious look. The pattern on the home jersey features the crown of RBFA’s crest repeatedly, with 1895 displayed in gold as a design detail on the neck of the jersey. On the away jersey, the opposite logic has been applied, with 1895 on the jersey and a gold crown in the neck. As light hits the jerseys, their appearance slightly differs due to the embossed pattern.

This is the third Belgian away kit in recent history that pays tribute to something or someone with roots in Belgium and is recognized and celebrated around the world. The UEFA EURO 2016 away kit was a playful homage to Belgium’s cycling heritage, a sport in which the country has had and continues to have great international success. The FIFA World Cup 2022 away jersey and capsule collection drew inspiration from Tomorrowland’s famous fireworks, bridging the worlds of sport, music, and entertainment. Now, it’s time for HergĂ© and Tintin, who practiced many sports during his adventures, to make an appearance in the matches of the Belgian Red Devils.
